Formed in 1968, KCPR is an independent student-run radio station at Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, California. With its eclectic musical spectrum and active DJ involvement, the station has gained a local following and national recognition, including Men’s Health’s list of the 20 coolest radio stations in the country.
In developing a new identity for KCPR, I wanted to harken back to an earlier era of music culture while adapting a scalable and minimalistic visual mark. With such a diverse range of content and personalities under its umbrella, the logo serves as an unwavering stamp of consistency. Business collateral plays nicely with in-house laserjets and the logo is easy to apply to promotional materials and merchandise.
